No B.C. sheep tag

There was a BC Sheep tag auctioned but it's not listed on here.
My son and I followed the auction online, just for kicks and I think the BC any sheep tag went for around 100K, but don't quote me on that. It seemed like a bargain, compared to some others.

The interesting thing we noted is that in general all the tags were pretty much 10 to 20% cheaper this year than last and the prices are generally trending down from a couple of years ago. Maybe all the real high rollers have killed their sheep and are dying off???

The prices are all still way above my head!

One thing that may be causing the 10% drop in price on these tags is the WSF has begun collecting a surcharge on them (as much as 10% of the auction price). A "tax' if you will, paid directly to the WSF.

If you look at the price history over the past 5 years there can be a lot of fluctuation from year to year.
I would think a lot of the ram tag fluctuation has to do with guides being able to show pictures of rams that made it through the hunting seasons? Like the Arizona Desert jumping so much because someone has found a truly exceptional ram and the Kluane tag falling so much because either the last hunter didn't see what he thought he would or the guides couldn't produce any pictures of huge rams?

FYI..there is a 5% buyers premium on auction tags were 100% of the bid price goes to the seller. Buyers premium goes to pay for marketing, Admin. etc.

Exa. CA, Wash, Utah, N. Mex (among others) have a buyers premium. WY, AZ, and others don't because WSF keeps a percentage, generally 10%.
