Anyone know how legal it is to film on public land (BLM, Forest Service, etc) and to then make a profit off of the footage or photographs?
I've spoken with the local Forest Service office and can't get a strait answer. It seems like there are a lot of loopholes. But, if you go out into the field and film a hunt, scenery, wildlife, etc, with the intention of making any kind of profit then you must have the proper permits which cost a lot of $$$ (not to mention the paper work).
There sure are a lot of new videos coming out with public land hunts. I'm sure the govt. wants more than their fair share of the $$$. Before we know it fish and game agencies will be charging a tax to video or take pictures.
Anyone have to deal with this?
