Finally a 45 type 9 elk

***Geez, I didn't know the 45-9 season was that long, LOL! Have fun and good luck as it's a great unit with some good bulls and other wildlife.

I hunted there 2 years ago. Nice looking area, it's huge but there are very few deer, I saw 1 buck in 7 days (besides the tame does along the highway). There are a lot of hikers at the main trailheads even in mid September. Saw one local chasing cats with her dogs too. Asked if I had a pistol, I said no I have this bear spray. She was not impressed.

This was my first solo hunt and it kinda scared me. There are lots of big rock fields up high, be very careful crossing them. One slip and you may not ever be seen again. No cell phone coverage so next time I will get a PLB.
