Well ended up punching my tag opening day last saturday on this buck.
He wasn't the big tall buck I had been watching in the area but he was definitly the dominant buck. Watched him chase off two other bucks including the big one when they came close to his 9 doe's.
Ended up sticking him about 45 minutes before dark. By the time I deboned him and packed up my gear it was pitch black and pouring. Made for a a nice mile and a half packout with lightning bolts dancing everywhere.
It was very humble and nerve racking at the same time. Just hoping not to become a lightning rod!
