First hunt of the year

This past weekend I assisted my nephew with his horns shorter than ears pronghorn. We dialed in on day 2 & after a few unsuccessful attempts, he found success on a young doe. This is just his 2nd big animal, so that smile is as authentic as it gets. I’m Blessed to have the opportunity to share in his hunt & be there to watch him grow as a hunter.

I killed an antelope in 132 years ago....ate backstrap the next evening and it was the best antelope I ever had. I really think it is so much better not being frozen first.

Agreed!!! What a great way to celebrate the hunt as well. If you look REEEEALLY hard… the tiny piece in the middle of the burgers was all that he was willing to share. ?
