Bringing the family out for a summer vacation this year and want to do a couple day pack-in horseback fishing trip. Looking at either Flat Tops or West Elk Wilderness. Would there be a difference in the quality of fishing in these areas? Any outfitter suggestions?

Thanks

Flat Tops has an awesome fishery. Lots of pack in lakes for day trips or extended trips. Call the Rifle, Meeker, or Craig, Colorado Chamber of commerence and they will give you all the info you'll need. Have fun.

I agree...Flat Tops has awesome fishing. Some big fish too compared to most high alpine lakes and streams. Are you bringing your own horses? If not, check out Winterhawk - I've been up there with them in the summer and it's spectacular. A great family trip.
