This last deer might have injured his antlers early in growth stage, or it might be a genetic anomaly. While videotaping deer this past fall during the rut, I saw and videotaped a 4x0, two 3x0's and a 2x0 buck(s) pretty much in the same general area. Only one appeared to have broken off his rack from fighting- I'm thinking a defect in the genes in this herd. Sometimes the cactus bucks or freak-antlered deer/elk really brand that particular animal as unique.
