Small report......
We got three days of snow on the Sierra, but today it is 85 degrees again, so I doubt many bucks will move off the Kern Plateau and out of the parks.
The winter range is as good as it has been for several years and there should be no problems for the deer that need to feed between the 4000' to 7000' range this winter.
We will need some colder weather to spur up the migration and the rut, but it is way warm for November right now.
The bottom could drop out of the thermometer on Thanksgiving and create a G3 hunt of quality proportion.....did that in '93 and '97 and up until Thanksgiving we were hunting quail and chuckar in T-shirts.
Pretty much have to wait and see. I haven't figgured out how to predict or influence Mother Nature.
I will keep you guys posted and will be looking forward to meeting all who head this way in December. PM me if you want to get the free tour. I want everyone to fill their tag and I will do all I can to help.
I have been hunting with different groups of friends almost full time since September 1st. Lots of days, I haven't felt real good, but I can feel bad in the woods or the desert as well as at home in bed.
Fortunately, I have many good friends who have gone out of their way to have me along. Been to New Mexico and Utah and still have a trip to Santa Rosa Island this year. It has been a GREAT season so far. I have even managed a few days affield with the Lab and the Brit, so life is GOOD!
