I went into this hunt with two goals in mind:
1. Shoot a big buck
OR...
2. Shoot a buck at 200 yards to try out the new muzzy.
In two days of hunting public land, I saw 29 bucks, and a couple of them were pigs! The big ones would come out across the canyon just before dark with no time to move in for a shot.
Friday morning, I sat up on a cliff overlooking a large bowl, surrounded by cliffs on three sides and happened to look directly below me to see five bucks feeding. I picked out the biggest one and watched him for about 20 minutes before I pulled the rangfinder out. I ranged him at 248 yards and that is when I decided to test the new gun out. I had shot consistent groups out to 200 yards, so I knew the shot would be makable......
I took this pic from where the buck died. The shot was taken from the top of the cliff.
To be continued......
(for some reason, my phone will not upload the rest of the pics)
