Eldorado if you check my other threads, you will see I mentioned that the GOP has been preparing a immigration bill in the House. Only way it will get passed is for them to take the Senate. While Harry Reid is the senate leader, he will table it and not bring it up for a vote just for political reasons because it is a GOP bill.
If it ever gets past the house, I would not be surprised if Obama vetos it for the same reasons, unless his Democrat congressman could convince him that would be the death nell on the Democrats for the latino vote in the future.
Obama should have kept his promise to your people that a comprehensive immigration bill would be his priorty if he won office the first time around. Instead he p!ssed the promise away when he had control of both houses of Congress in his first two years of office.

Horse is out of the barn on illegal immigration. Only thing left to do is build a true fence across the whole border and stop new illegal immigration.

Any that are here are deported if they are felons. Amnesty with a caveat. Get a felony get deported.

Much more I would like, but, will never happen.
 
Agree that the immigration bill will be passed on January 2, 2015. The GOP will pass a bill that allows for immigration expansion but requires the borders to be shut down before any discussion of a path to citizenship. It will allow people who are already here with American kids to legally stay. Obama will veto the bill and piss of millions of illegals who could have come out of the closet and into the light.

The border fence is the joke of the 21st century, they will just cross in cars like tens of thousands do everyday, or they will find another way.

As long as we let them have illegal labor for home builders and other businesses and wealthy citizens that want cheap labor, there is no chance to stop it.
Typical America, such an easy solution, but we just can't do it.

Dude are you naive enough to believe that any GOP immigration bill will get pass Harry Reid while his party controls which bills get voted on. Old Harry would very quietly table it on a back burner and it would not see daylight while he is majority leader. Then he would spin it to the public and latinos as Obama spun it in San Diego to the latinos about making immigration his priorty if he got elected. Only this time old Harry would be saying the GOP bill is not good enough and has too many restrictions and should not see the light of day.
On second thought, yeah! you are that naive enough to believe in fairy tales spun by Obama and Harry Reid. Crap! you even fell for Pelosi's famous, "Lets pass it and see what happens".

Doesn't it concern anyone that both sides see the best way to get the Latino vote revolves around a bill with "Immigration" used instead of "Illegal alien" Why do people, not even citizens have such an impact on voting. Maybe better said, what is the agenda, that has allowed this to happen. Ya Ya I know they just want to help and do the jobs Americans wont..ya ya ya Its funny to me how all the immigrants from past decades made themselves ,for lack of a better word, assimilate into the melting pot. Today's " Immigrants" want all the perks the country offers, but want the country has to change to match their home country.
 
Its another pitfall of the two party system, just like public employees. Neither party can afford to alienate very many Hispanic voters or public employees.

So who are you going to vote for? as always its the lesser of two evils and its the the only choice we have.

Americans will work, if the job is hard and dirty it may be worth more money, but isn't that how the market is supposed to work?

Competing with illegals who have families elsewhere and get free healthcare because they have nothing to lose is not fair to citizens.

If only 20-30 percent of them ended up on the welfare rolls, taxes would go sky high. When you have that many unskilled labors who can only secure minimum wage jobs, they will be like any other human and take the easy way out. Since 33 states pay more money in welfare then minimum wage jobs, the incentive would be to go on the welfare rolls and work under the table. We have enough so called citizens doing this now and do not need to add a few million more for taxpayers to support.
Reagan tried amnesty for only two million, now we have 11-14 million illegals in this country hoping for the same gravey train. Let them have priorty on getting work visas that will not grant benifits that citizens have.Work visas must be renewed every two years by showing gainful employment for getting a renewal. Make them work for citizenship with certain regulations that must be complied with. Get caught committing a felony crime or misdemeanor involving violence, deport and blackball them from coming back.
To obtain the work visa, they must regrister within a certain time period. Fail to register and get caught, or failure to renew a work visa, automatic deportation and not allowed back in legally. All states must issue driver's license or I.D. card that clearly states the applicant is here on a work visa and voter I.D. be required in every state to vote in a national election. Any business hiring must check for citizenship or work visa, if they can not produce required I.D. no hire under severe fines to force compliance by company hiring.
Will they have the guts to do it, I doubt it.

What would you do about the healthcare situation RELH? Many of the illegals I know impregnate their girl friends who are illegal and guess who pays for doctors and births?

That's not to mention other problems? I think employers who insist on hiring non citizens should be required to provide insurance and be liable for any health care costs.
 
Like I said, no benifits that U.S. citizens get. They either pay into a insurance fund and their employer can pay a portion.
Also we need to change the status of their babies being born here and becoming citizens. If both parents are here as non citizens, their babies get citizenship of the country their parents have citizenship in, not U.S. citizenship. That will never happen though.

RELH, I agree with what you are saying. I was trying to point out how sickening the issue is. Its just another thing Both parties use to BUY votes on election day. I am AGAINST business having ANY illegals. It should be , if a business is found to have illegals. They are counted and added up with other businesses who use the same practises. There should be aggressive enforcement. After one year, maybe it could have a deadline like say April 15th. All the costs of enforcement, Deportation, unpaid taxes, cost of "cheeted programs, Court costs, ect... NO APPEALS! should be tallied up and divided between the companies that have been caught in the illegal worker practises, and that would be there fine. Take away the incentive for both the business and the illegal worker, and they will stay home.
 
RELH you're funny, the GOP has voted what 99 times to repeal obamacare , but they haven't even given us a plan to deal with immigration. by sitting with their fingers up their butt you assume they won't do anything you dislike about it and they hope the hispanics will assume they will do something they like. is this your first time watching politics?

The reason e-verify isn't required for some industries is because they know it would shut them down. for the first time ever farmers in my area including myself had to hire a contractor from CA to plant carrot stecklings this year. it cost twice as much and no americans were on the crew they were mostly from Guatamala.

One could argue it's better than illegals doing the job , which a dumb arguement unless you plan to deport them which you do not . just brilliant, let them stay but don't let them work.

My county is rural and has the highest unemployment in the state. we don't have very many mexicans and the ones who want to work all have jobs. so if you think americans will do these jobs that is a pretty good example of the fact they will not.

Dude you are just arguing the issue because being the cheapskate you are, you want to keep your CHEAP LABOR and keep your profit margin up as high as you can.
I hope you are not one of those farmers that hire illegals and just before payday, after the crop is in, you call border patrol and have them rounded up to avoid paying them. Cheap as you are, it would not surprise me that you would stoop that low.

I can see why they blocked the bill since Obama wants to grant citizenship to 11.5 million illegals in this country. Eldorado it will not hurt them as much as you like to think it will. The reason for that is that a majority of voting American citizens do not want the illegals be granted citienship for their illegal entry into this country.
Those voters take in both Democrats and GOP and alot of Independants. You are not just fighting the GOP for your illegal cousins, you are fighting the majority of the average voting citizens that disagrees with you over amensty being granted.

Yep! Reagan gave them citizenship. Then after seeing the adverse fallout from that decision, he admitted that he made a mistake in signing that bill.

Now here comes Obama and his dumb-a-crats and they want to make the very same mistake on a far greater scale. History did not teach them anything. Only problem is not all Democrats are dumb-a-crats like Obama and they also have a party divided on the issue along with the majority of the voters.

I guess we will see if common sense or party loyalty wins out on this issue.

Amnesty and a truly closed border is the only viable option.

Somehow they cannot figure out how to close the border. Pathetic.
 
As they say, where there is a will there is a way. you can't close 1954 miles of border on the honor system.

If you want people to respect a border you do it like they did with the Berlin Wall. I don't think we're that serious about it.

I am not an expert on the working of the Border Patrol, but, just my observations, their strategy is to deal with the illegals once they are here or at least try to find their drugs.

The 3 border patrol stations that I am very familiar with is the one between El Paso and Alamogordo. at least 60 miles inside our border.

The one on the 10 HWY between Las Cruces and Deming. The 10 runs East to west, and this one is at least 15 miles within our border.

The silliest one of all is the one between San Diego and Temecula about 80 miles inside the US border. San Diego is one of the largest cities in the country as is El Paso.

I drive through these all the time. They are normally staffed with at least 5 guys, 1-2 dogs and lots of technology.

I got to think these investments on the actual border could go a long way.
Of course this would also slow down the flow of drugs into our country which would in turn economically support our Drug producers. Just checking to see if anyone is reading this.
 
They'd have a one way F'N Ticket back Home & they could vote any way they want in their own Country!

Other than my regular guys I'm using a contractor this year, most of his workers are Guatamalan. they look like umpa lumas but they work like a machine. I figured it out by the hour and they made about $ 20 an hour, not even the mexicans wanted to plant this year they have better jobs in construction and landscaping.

I've talked to other farmers in other areas and it's the same story. workers are impossible to get at any price for grunt jobs. worst anyone has ever seen so I have to assume the border is getting tight.

Paul I don't see how you could ever have 100% control without using leathal measures. I'll try lots of things , but not if I think I'm going to get shot or fried.
