ground squirrels, Northern California?

LAST EDITED ON Dec-18-07 AT 05:49PM (MST)[p]Are there any good BLM areas relatively near the San Francisco Bay Area that hold a good population of ground squirrels? What about farmland with a reasonable trespass fee? I just bought a Remington SPS Varmint and am dying to try it out!

Head over torwards livermore/ tracy area and start knockin on doors. As long as the rancher thinks your a stand up guy most will buy the ammo for ya. I've always had good luck with that aproach, not alot of ground rats out right now though but it's the best time of year for yotes
