Lyle and Lloyd, You can read my post again. I did not say anything that was not true. Fair is fair. Lloyd has not been fair to a friend. Then he tried to get more business from this post.
Kevin was very disappointed in the hunt. His dream hunt was not even a good hunt in his eyes. He did'nt get to share any of the experience with his family. He was paying for advise on judging trophy bulls. He made it very clear, that he did'nt want to shoot anything the first 3 days of the hunt, unless it was a 370-380 class bull or bigger. He wanted to have his boy with him for acouple days if possible. His boy could'nt make it for the first day, but was on his way. The FIRST night of a 10 day hunt, he was talked into shooting this bull that was suppose to be a monster. 380 class bull. He shot it at 150 yards with a muzzle loader. There is only about 8 tags for the whole very large unit. Not much pressure. If there was questions about the bull. The guide should have told him lets get a better look. If the sun was in the spotters eyes, and the guide said he had tunnel vision, The guide should not have talked him in to shooting. If I was the guide and missed judged a bull by 45 inches on the first day of the hunt. I would have appologizied and given him his money back. None of this happened. He was told . Thats how hunting goes sometimes. My reply is about being fair. I have missed judged animals before. Mistakes can happen. I'm not a paid guide. No one is perfect. When we make mistakes (which we all do) try to be fair and make things right. Lyle, I asked Llyod to PM me. I did'nt want to bash on the internet. I also feel like I have the resposibility to tell the truth. The way things are. The TRUTH.
Lloyd, Kevin said that you called. Thanks.
My question is. I will be blunt. Is it fair to charge some one $2,000 dollars for a hunt. Miss judge a bull by at least 45 inches, the FIRST day of the hunt. Talk the hunter into shooting the elk, AFTER HE MADE IT VERY CLEAR, NO SHOOTING THE FIRST 3 DAYS,UNLESS IT IS A MONSTER 380 CLASS OR BIGGER. Paid him, $2,000 dollars for one days work. Very poor advise. I believe in a honest days work for an honest days pay. I'm not saying your dishonest. We all make mistakes again.
Be fair. Give him at least 50% of his money back. And learn from your mistakes. Don't advertize for more business, until you make things right on past business. Thanks, Greg
