Gunnison Camping

Hey Colorado folks...anyone ever stay at the Tall Texan RV park in gunnison during the summer months or have any experience with any campgrounds in the gunnison area? Going on a family vacation with the camper.

I live next to the Tall Texan. It's a nice camp ground with a bunch of Okies and Texans who spend the summer there. They pack them in tight, but I don't think that's unusual. There's a KOA on the south side of town, but I don't know much about it. There's camping at Blue Mesa too - Elk Creek Marina. Three Rivers in Almont has a few RV spaces too.

I stayed at the Blue mesa campground a couple years ago..would stay there again..also bring your boat if you have one and make a trip to the Lake city area great sideX side and Atv riding..clean & family friendly..Danny B

Thanks for all the info guys! Ended up doing some more research and the family decided to stay at Rifle Gap State Park. It looks beautiful there!
