I consider this a victory....very important winter range. I've seen deer, elk and antelope all standing around together in the snow. Houses there would have been a terrible blow.
I wish IDF&G would have bought it instead of the city. I think it's long term future would be more secure. Thoughts?
 
I have to agree with all your statements. Great move for keeping the land as is, instead of hundreds if not more homes on it. As far as the long term future!!!!! I have a feeling it will eventually be developed in some way or form. The city wont just hold on to the land forever and do nothing with it after spending $10 million on it just so some deer and elk have a place to eat in winter. As much as I would like to see it stay the way it is, it wont happen. Someone somewhere would raise a huge hype that we spent that much money and did nothing with it. O-well, good move for now.
