Has anyone tried calling elk at night to try and locate? If they respond how likely are they to be there the next morning?

This is my experience night before my hunt bulls were bugling right behind my tent like 20 yds. It took everything I had not to go out and kill but my wife had to knock me out with a club. Hah! Next morning and the rest of the 9 day archery hunt nothing!

If you want to cause yourself problems with Elk not responding to calls in the morning and early evening hours, go calling at night. Go out and scout, learn Elk behavior

Listen 2 hours after shooting light and 2 hours before. Don't call. I don't call anyway unless I think I'm inside 100 yards. My experience with public land elk is they've been called too much and know it.
