It seems the Forest Service trying to propogate more Grizzly damage on the Upper Green. The Wyoming Game and Fish must like paying out more damage claims for US Forest Service policies. Retired sheep grazing leases are now being reactivated and stocked with Cattle, much of it in the Gros Ventre Wilderness. I’m sure the purchasers of those Sheep grazing allotments are feeling disenfranchised. https://www.wyofile.com/bridger-teton-grazing-proposal-is-a-breach-of-trust/

The title of this thread is misleading and the creator evidently doesn't know the area. The entire east half of the Elk Ridge Complex is already one of the heaviest used areas by ORV/ATV/SxS in the Upper Green River valley. There's rarely a day in the summer/fall that some sort of UTV isn't running the trails atop the Elk Ridge area. The deer and the elk and the moose and the antelope have utilized the area for as long a Thoman's ran their sheep up there, after they were bought out, and still will if cattle are thrown in there. Walk a half mile off the north boundary of the Elk Ridge Complex and there's cattle in the Tosi Creek drainage. And because of all the high use activity up there, most elk & deer avoid the area already. I'd be fine with cattle in the non-wilderness portion of the allotment.

It was meant as a TIC title to enjoy more Grizzly company and 4 legged moo critters while hunting or being hunted. This brings cattle well into the Gros Ventre Wilderness as 44% of the grazing allotment is in the Wilderness. Area. The main Green river FS road is well used but up in the Wilderness and Forest habitat above the river it’s great elk, deer and moose habitat who now will get to share drought conditions pickings with 700+ cattle. This is blatant bait and switch by the FS to take the grazing fees of conservation groups who bought out the former grazers and then watch it get resold as a cattle allotment.
