Heavy Barell

I've been looking at getting a savage 22-250 with the heavier barrel for taken some coyotes out with, and was wondering what the benifits of the heavier barell and is it worth spending the extra money for one.

Jake,

No, it isn't worth it. Save your money and have alot more fun carrying and pointing a standard barrel. I promise to dead pile will be just as big.

There is no benefit if you are only using it for coyotes. Where heavy barrels are good is for prairie dog or some other varmints that require alot of shooting. The heavy barrel will not heat up as fast. And they are a pain in the arse to pack a long ways.
