Help with pics

Hey,I'm new at this whole computer thing,but I really like reading what everyone has to say. I really like checking out all the pictures. If someone could maybe give me a quick lesson on scanning pictures and how to put them on the computer I'd like to show you guys some of my pictures.looking forward to talking with everyone and showing some pictures.

First off read the manual with your scanner on getting started scanning.

Then,
Save your pictures in the .jpg format.
Make sure you resize or resample the pictures to a size that will be viewable on the computer screen, usually between 300-800 pixels in width is best.
Next find an image host to store your pictures online (you other guys help me out here with suggestions, I use my own website so I don't know who the best image host is now).
After you've saved your pictures to the internet with a hosting service, all you have to do is type in the url of the image and it will show up in the message.
