I am a non resident, I would like to hunt Unit 148 for deer and 70 for elk. I believe these are both general tags, am I correct? Or is the deer tag a region tag? Looking at the statistics for drawing I should be able to get the deer tag. The elk tag looks like I would need preference points to draw, if I put in for the special tag it looks like I could draw the tag, am I correct?

Correct on the elk tag strategy

The deer tag would be a Region E tag.

Also if you are a Non-Resident....YOU NEED A GUIDE IN THOSE AREAS.

My friend is a WY resident and will get his non-commercial guide license to bring me in.

With all the grizzlies in there we will be together every minute. We went fishing there last summer and saw lots of bears.
