My friend drew the tag with 13 points and I didn't have any tags so it worked out well for me to go be a spotter. Three of us hunted hard for two whole days! JK. The hunter really wanted something with trash and that was tough to come by. We looked over 30-50 mature deer and most of them were typicals. We walked away from a couple of Typs that were over 190". Never thought I'd say that in my life.
I found this guy on the second morning while the other two where hiking up after another one, only to decide he wasn't as big as they thought. I got to watch this one through my spotter for an hour that morning. I wasn't sure if they would like him because his main frame has a couple of short forks. When we met back up I tried to down play him a bit because I didn't think he would score very well but I told them if it was my tag, the hunt would have been over.
I watched him head into some pines and not come out so we figured he had bedded down there and would be there in the afternoon...He was....they did.
He actually scored a bit better than I thought and to be honest he is one of those bucks that's bigger than he scores.
With cheater he is outside spread of 35". Right base has a mass measurement of 7.5" left is 6.5". He nets in the low 200s.He has mass to kill for. All the way up!
