Using a chainsaw to rough in a sculpture from a giant live oak that was some type of historic tree here. I thought I saw a spark when I made this cut.

Any guesses on what it was.
 
It is a bullet. 9mm I believe.

Proof that if you stand in the same place long enough in Houston you will eventually take a bullet.

I wonder if I will find any others during this project.

At the sawmill we had a collection of things we hit in logs. Lots of nails, barbed wire, spikes form Earth First. Bullets we didn't hardly notice but once in awhile. The worst was glass, like glass insulators from the old telegraph days.
 
Building a deck for a customer I found this in one of the 2”X12”’s. Some little pisscutter doesn’t know how lucky he was. I imagine there’s a lot of these in Utah’s forests.
