Hornady FTB vs SST for elk

Hi,

I have a Knight Revolution and have always used Hornady SST 300 gr bullets on deer and my dad used this set up to take an elk a couple of years ago and dropped it in its tracks (it was only 60 yards however).

I'd like a setup that could make a quick, ethical kill out to 175 yards and am thinking about going to the FPBs in 350 grains. Thoughts on this?

I have a Knight Revolution also and shoot a 370 gr. TC maxiball conical with 90 gr of 777. Since I use open sights (Colorado), I've just not shot much longer since I consider my limit about 150 max unless I really practiced.
Also in case you hadn't heard, there is a recall on the Knight Revolution triggers. You can check it out via the Knight website. I just mailed mine in today as it did take quite a while to get the info mailed to me once I followed the directions via the website. Another bullet to try is the Hornady FPB. I've not had a chance to shoot it much but some have had good success with it. Good luck.
