LAST EDITED ON Jan-28-05 AT 07:38PM (MST)[p]HOLY CRAP!!! WHAT A PIG!!! I'm going to Alberta this year for Moose & Mule Deer! I'll probably pee my pants & forget my name if I see something that size!

Funny, after posting this deer,I was flipping through a taxidermy catalog (Research Mannikins) the antlers on this buck look VERY similar to a reproduction set of antlers they offer in the catalog.
Any taxidermists out there?
B&C seemed to be questioning the photo.
LAST EDITED ON Jan-29-05 AT 06:55AM (MST)[p]It looks to me that the ear bases might have been cut. They are hanging kind or funny. The hide around the left eye and between the bases look a little loose. My guess is that it is a fake. I hope that I am wrong though. That would be one sweeeeeeeeeeet buck!

And thanks Mike, I was rather proud of myself for catching that!
Giant antlers are like fingerprints.
A person would be a fool to try to claim one that wasn't his own.

There's no doubt it's the same replica. It has had some points cut off and the long cheater has been lengthened, as well as the eyeguards. The ears are hanging loose like they do when they are severed during the caping process.
Definitely a fake!
I thought, here we go again, questioning a guy with a big animal. But man, someone should call this guy out! He altered the main beams to curl down as well. Definately something wrong going on there!
arent those the same horns on the buck in the advertisement in the lobby of this forum title colorado vouchers? Must be some strong gene pool! Alot of identical bucks running around! I guess for $195 we could all shoot one...
