Some people have complained about these swaps, I know some on here are especially bothered by the swaps in unit 32.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-03-15 AT 09:41AM (MST)[p]yes i saw that but the Pajarito land swap isn't the issues with all of us that hunt that unit its the Flex land swap an it doesn't appear on that does that mean that they will no longer swap public hunting land with that ranch or will they do a last minute swap as in years before? an many of us oppose that swap but it continues to occur...

I am not familiar with the Flex land swap. Do you mean the Felix Canyon and River utilization agreement? I think that is up for consideration. Check the link below.

We were down there this year. It's a less than ideal situation. For those of you that know the area and how the Felix River Ranch supports the "Blackwater" type contractor training on their land it was straight up bull*!@#. On Monday February 2, the contractors opened up with the .50 cals mounted on the Humvees at their shooting range that is dead smack in the middle of the land unitization area. They must have let loose 2000 rounds over the course of 30 minutes. On the night of February 1st they were playing with explosives and were popping those big explosions off every 20 minutes or so.

Now that I know that Mike Perry is the admin for this program I will give him a call. He is my wife's cousin. I'll give him hell about it the next time we see him at my wife's and his grandmother's house.

correct that is the land swap agreement I was referring to funny that on news release 03/02 from NMGFD the Felix Canyon and River utilization agreement is not part of their discussions does anyone know why? Due to agreement is already type up is that one a done deal again for this years hunts?

Hey Guys....
Just to clarify a little, I am sure most of you know this but just in case someone is reading about this issue for the first time. It is a land ACCESS swap.. so no land is actually changing hands...

Anyway, we really need people to show up that have a vested interest in hunting the area. Only those that hunt the area truly know what the access swap will mean..
