This was the first year in decades that I didn't kill a buck locally.
My kid filled the freezer with two 3x3's but I just didn't see a buck I liked enough to shoot, passing on a broadside 3 point at 18 yards on the last day of the season.

I did get out & get a few fish last week.
They were pretty colored up but kicked my ass on a steelhead rod.

I wish I was catching trout that size!

Those are Sacramento River Kings taken near Red Bluff.
Those were released.
Most of those upper river fish have been in fresh water too long, but they still fight like the Devil.

My kid put some nice chromers in the freezer earlier in the year.
Feather River fish are for eatin!
