Im looking for a hunting boot for early to mid season. Im looking into danner pronghorns. Any recommendations?

I recommend the American made Danners.

Asolo TPS are hard to beat. All leather upper with Vibram soles. Good ankle support, super comfortable all day even with a heavy pack on your back. They are a little pricey but their quality and performance are exceptional.

I made the mistake of buying the pronghorns and in a little over a month of use they were crap. I wear my boots every day and have an outside job so im alot harder on boots than most. If your going to buy Danners buy the American made boots. I bought a pair of Kenetrek and they have lasted almost 2 years. Ive never had a pair of boots last that long. Their worth the money.

These cant be re-soled. Which for me is a huge deal. No way would I pay that much for a pair of boots that will have the soles worn off in a couple seasons.

I also give the thumbs up to the Asolo's. Had better traction than my Lowas even though I like them as well.
Minimal breakin and made it through high country archery deer and mid elevation muzz elk season with zero blisters or hot spots.
Best,

Another vote here for the Asolo TPS. They are the best boots I have ever owned. They are actually classified as a backpacking boot, and not a hunting boot. But they are much more comfortable than any other hunting boot I've ever owned. They are made to handle lots of miles and heavy loads. Your feet will thank you.

My advice is to not buy Pronghorns (unless you like wet feet).

You will not wear out Meindl Perfekts is a few season. I have beat mine up over 4 or 5 years. There is very little wear on the soles. Buy the Meindl- Trust me!

Hello I have found the Cabelas Denali fit IQ by Meindl to excellent in fit, traction, comfort,no hot spots, good when carrying a load, and there very quiet for a hunting boot, I will buy my next pair after this season my first pair is about done.

+1 on the Denali's. I have a pair that I've worn every day for the last 2 years. I work in construction and granted I get a lot of window time I still am out on the job a lot and walking in wet concrete ect. It is just now time to get a new pair.
