The wife and I recently moved to the southeast part of Idaho from Somewhere Else. We do a fair a bit of hunting, mostly hogs in Texas or guided hunts. I'm looking to get out of relying on outfitters and doing some hunting on our own.

I'm hoping someone out there would be willing to show us the ropes for hunting on public land

This may sound oversimplified, but get on to Fish and Game website, and look at the units near you that are OTC and then spend every min you can, particularly AM/PM in them scouting. You'll figure it out.

Lot's of Game in SE Idaho. Pretty close to a bunch in Wy, Ut, and Colo as well. Compared to feral hogs and texas WT's these muleys and elk will seem like giants.
