When I was in Alaska in the mid 60's, game violations was taken very serious and they threw the book at you for any game or fishing violation. During that time hunting and fishing was big revenue money, non resident license fees and tags, for the state and they protected their game animals.

There are now 44 states in the Wildlife Violator Compact with Nebraska being the only state along with several on the east coast that isn't and 4 of them are in the process of joining. That means both should not be hunting for life in any of the Compact states just like Idaho with the computer tracking system they have on violators. One of the two is serving time and why the other was let out on parole is beyond me.
