If you were to buy new binoculars from 1,000 down what kind would you buy, I have looked at the Bushnell Elite or the Euro binos, what would you choose?

1,000 down? are you kidding? If you can do 1,000 you can do 1329 and do swaro or zeiss or leica.
If you want low range get the nikon monarchs $300, leupy gold ring series, pentax, or just use those old 29.99 bushnells until you can make the jump to the big 3.
