When I worked in the woods I "borrowed" a few sticks of dynamite and some blasting caps from the powder monkey. I put the dynamite in an old coffee can in the garage and forgot about it. Some time later I noticed they were leaking. I had heard that it could be dangerous, but I figured as long as there wasn't a spark it should be fine. I put the can and the dynamite in a plastic bag and threw it in the garbage can. Nothing happened that I know of.

They pulled it all out of the rusted can and built a fire under it and it just burned brightly…..no explosion
