It's fairly easy to read between the lines that he confirmed Iran is working towards making the bomb and has told them how far they are along in that progect.
Reason for Obama calling for more sanctions that may never work. Russia needs to rethink their stance on Iran after they had two suicide bombings from Muslim radicals, and support severe enough sanctions that may collapse that radical goverment in Iran.

Easy, the subject of Russia not being a full partner in Iranian sanctions has been brought up. Russia is closer to the kind of sanctions Obama is asking for than China is.
With the information this scientist gives up the case for stonger action against Iran might be stong enough to move China, lets hope so because little is going to happen as long as China is standing behind Iran.

China agreed today to sit down and talk about stiff sanctions on Iran. who knows how far they'll allow them to go but this is big news, and not news Ahmadinejad wanted to hear.

Sure they've said this for years, but they've also sold them much of what they need to become nuclear and buy much of their oil. they are on good terms and it's working for both of them.
For the first time they're willing to say they might be willing to allow serious sanctions, this is no doubt because they think they may have played this game as long as it's safe to. China can control Iran if they wish, we'll have to see how serious they are.

China has been playing the U.S. as well as the U.N. for years on this subject. What is their incentive to piss off Iran? I feel sorry for the country that is found to provide nuclear material to terriosts, they can trace where it came from. The world will unite to put them out of their misery.

Their insentive is they have let it go about as far as it can go, it isn't Iran's feelings they care about. there is no evidence China has supplied them with nuclear material but we know they have sold them some of what they need to create it.
China may go for deal where Iran can have nuclear power but it all has to be totally open to UN inspection and subject to conditions , it would be like China to not back down once they take a stand. the UN can't ever get Israel to abide by a resolution so don't expect China to demand any more fron Iran, nobody has right to deny Iran or anyone else the right to nuclear power and this is where China has been going with this. they're right, but they're also going to be responsible for what it's worth if things go bad and as long as this regime is in charge of Iran it will.
Don't worry nobody is going to come down on China with anything more than a scolding, nothing more. and they know it.
