Island Sheds - Let's see 'em!

Come on guys, stop holding out. Post what you picked up so that us losers who wandered around that island all day without picking anything up can hate you more.

All I found were a couple of chalky old ones that got left on the mountain and a whole bunch of boot and horse tracks (that were clearly made well before the opener). However, I know others had some luck (including that big sheep winter-kill), so let's see some pics!

kinda funny that you can't leave the main trails and yet there are tracks everywhere? 50 bucks to go hunt for horns that are dropped and then stashed by a bunch of cheating a-holes. i'm used to getting screwed by the state but not by so called fellow sportsmen! if they want to make it fair for both animals and horn hunters close the island to all humans from jan 1 till april 1 then open it up . this way the poor animals won't be chased and the cheaters can't hide the horns .

The whole reason I do not participate in the shed hunts that start up the day winter ranges are opened up to the public. Got burned years ago up Middle Fork by pine view res. when I decided to give opening day a try. I got HALF way up the canyon, it was 9:30 am and there was a dude in full camo with a pack FULL of elk antlers skirting along the cliffs above me trying to stay out of view as he was hiking OUT! How do you have that much bone on your back when the area just opened and people haven't even gotten in that far??? That dude had to have been in there collecting and stashing antlers long before the opener.

Pisses me off when the good guy gets screwed....

After filming bucks all winter long, I was excited about the shed hunt, and had a great time, even though I got skunk.

The week before, my friend Colton and I went scouting, and I glassed up this nice 3 point shed about 400 yards away.

Then Colton glassed up this inline shed.

Heres a pic of the buck in velvet. middle one.

Later Colton glassed up a huge 4 point far from the road, but that shed disapeared before the weekend.

The inline shed was incredibly visible to anybody that glassed that hill, and we were worried it would get poached.

As the line for the hunt grew, it became obvious that most had seen the inline shed, and wondered how long it would last.

My buddy Ryan was the first out and run up and snagged it. Pretty sure it was the first shed picked up on the day.

We didn't go after the 3 point, but this guy did. Late in the day this same bucks brown shed was found, and fellow MM'er whiteshadow found the match.

I finally got on the mountain and headed to where we felt sheds would be. Here's me jetted through some snow. Close your eyes BESS, this might be painful to see.

We were looking for the match to one glassed earlier, but as my luck was bad, I watched a guy to my right pick it up. I was sick, because 100 inch horns are hard to come by.

Colton found the left side of a buck I searched for last year, and another shed hunter found the match. I have a set and two singles off this buck.

Its brown shed was found by his buddy. Crazy how this buck regressed.

One of the highlights was my buddy finding this ram. Many of you who watched the sheep hunt with Adam Eakle outdoors, saw the hunter miss ol' gimpy. He did not survive the winter.

A few ATL's, and a group shot, minus me, at the end of the day.

Yelum

Theres logic, and theres women. They don't go together.

Thanks for sharing yelum. Looks like you guys did well. That four point in front of the kid wearing all camo second from the left looks huge. What did that antler score?

Oh man, Jason. You have alien baby trapped under those sheds.

Congrats on that toad 3. Heard you were getting the match.
