Jemez Area Roads

Hi All,

I'm hoping to chase some birds in 6A and was wondering if anyone's heard any status on road closures. Last year I hunted off FR376 to the south of the highway going to Fenton Lake. A co-worker heard the roads won't be open until May. Anyone have any info?

Thanks!

Phil

Not real sure about all of them but my nieghbor went up this past weekend to check out the turkey areas and said it was open , just muddy as all heck...

Call the Jemez Ranger District (505) 438-7840 for information on a specifict road:

http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/sfe/districts/jemez/index.html

If the road you want to know about is not within the Jemez District (Coyote, for example), they'll transfer you to the right district.

Info I got this morning regarding a road that I want access to is that the soonest it will be open will be 4/15, and possibly not even then. Yesterday's and today's weather is not helping the cause... :-(

the gates are to be open on the 15th tues. roads are clear to highway 126
on fr376. peggy road a couple of places
are snow packed but passable. oh yea they were clearing boulders on 376, yesturday.

When the say they'll open the gates on 4/15, any idea what time that usually occurs? Should I bother trying to get to my turkey spot before daylight?
