LAST EDITED ON Jan-20-11 AT 11:36PM (MST)[p]I headed out this morning to hunt the last day of the season in 20C. It was quite a strange season after being out four times and into pigs each time. I put several stalks in and each time the wind would swirl around or I would make some bonehead noise and spook the herd.
This morning I headed into my usual spot and couldn't find a thing. I figured since the wind was blowing so hard they would be in the bottoms so I started slow walking the washes.
Around 0900 I spotted five pigs about 200 yards ahead with noting but sandy wash and oakbrush between us. I figured this was perfect for a stalk so I headed towards them. I got close and ranged a couple pigs at 25 yards when this one snuck up on me. I nailed him at 10 yards and he made it about 30. 100 grain Slick Trick did a fine job. Good times.
