Just got a Leica Ultravid 8X42, brand new, today, priced 1850 $can, that would be around 1690 $US, here in Montreal. Tried other brands, that was simply the one I liked better. Can't wait to hunt with them now...

Did your bino's happen to come with lens covers? I just bought a pair of 10x42 Trinovids, and Wholesale Sports in Calgary claims they don't come with them???

1800 bucks CAD should get a dude a pair of friggin lens caps!!

Leica Ultravids come with both Objective and ocular covers. Trinovids only have ocular covers

I have the 12X50 ultravids and the lense covers are the worst design I have seen, they get stuck when you try to flip them down in a hurry. The ocular cover wouldn't stay on, so I bought swarovski covers and they work fine, do yourself a favor and do the same, the glass is awesome though.

I guess I'll have to call Leica and ask them for some ocular covers.
