When using this scope, in order to use the varmint reticle correctly, do you use the triangles when firing your weapon? Or is just for sighting in? I guess my real question is - how do you use the scope? The directions seem to imply that the varmint reticle (per load) is only accurate when the triangle is used. If that is the case, then, the higher powers are inaccurate, is this correct? Thanks for any and all help.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-14-06 AT 09:52AM (MST)[p]Yes, you should use the correct triangle that matches your cartridge for the stadia wires to be on for 300, 400, 450 etc yards.

If you want to use a higher power than the proper triangle, you would need to shoot a different yardages to see where your bullet impacts for the different wires (or figure the subtensions at 100 yards for the diff wires and use a ballistics program first, before verifying).

If you need to zero at 200 yards for your cartridge group, it does not matter what power you use (do not need to be on a triangle) when you zero.

Cool...thanks very much. That is what I kind of thought - if I zero at 200, the rest should be on (or nearly on).

Mucho thanks.
