That would depend on your eyes and conditions. It's really a great scope that will work great for close shooting with an excellent field oF view yet can be used at longer range. I wouldn't hesitate taking shots at 350-400 yards with one on deer or larger game or farther if you feel comfortable with it. It will do the job when called upon. Obviously the image won't be as large but the end result will be the same after the shot. It can be a great scope in brush country and fast shooting situations. Hope this helps.
