Here's the story I got when my friend sent me the pics:
This is a photo of an elk shot by bowhunter, Ed Schaffer, in Powder River County. The two elk were locked horns, one was dead already. Probably asphixiated or died of a broken neck. Ed harvested the live one with his bow and arrow. They are both his animals to keep because the other died of natural causes. He plans to have them mounted as they are. Is this incredible or what? Probably not something you will ever see more than once in a lifetime.
