Luepold or Zeiss

Lookiing at a scope. What do you guys think about the differences between the zeiss conquest and the luepold vxII?

Just bought my first Zeiss scope

and love it!!! I've got Leupold VXII's on 4 other rifles and decided to try the Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 for my new .338 Win Mag. It is superbly bright and clear. In short, I'll be buying Zeiss scopes for any and all future rifle purchases.

I bought mine for $389, with free shipping, from Doug at Cameraland NY.

Zeiss, I have had no problems with them. I can not say the same for the gold ring scopes. Leupy has a great warranty, but I should not need it on that price of a scope.

Used Leupold always. Never had a problem. Nice warranty if you do have a problem. I don't know about the other but Leupold fuels a lot of domestic jobs too.

Always used Leupold. Going with the Zeiss Conquest. Better price and just to see if they are really better. Going to sit on top of a Tikka T3 .270

You'll be glad you did. The Conquest is more in the ball park of the VXIII so it would have easily outperformed the VXII.

BTW, the Conquest line is assembled here in the good ol' USA.

I would also suggest taking a look at the Leupold Mark 2 line of scopes - with their Long Range Reticle its a nice all around scope for a decent price.
