How did everyone do on May 1st opener this year? My family had a great day as far as quality goes. We expected to find more antlers but nothing near the size we ended up finding. My dad found a 350" elk set which is a monster set. He has much more horn than most any 350" antler I've seen or picked up. 20 1/2" 4ths. Extremely comparable to a 375 set we have, just doesn't score it. Then my wife found a 170" fresh set of muley sheds. Great set with deep forks. 20" G2's, 13" G3's. Both sets are up there with my families best sets we've ever found. We saw maybe 20 other elk sheds come out, one about 300 class single and lots of 5's and rags. Bulls the size my dad found are extremely rare in this area. I've hunted it 13 years and seen 2 bulls bigger. My dad has hunted it 30 years and seen 5 bulls bigger. Mature bulls are 280-320 in this area typically so you can imagine our surprise finding this absolute toad of a bull. Also should add, I only found 1 antler, the small 4 point, hard white, in the dark on the way in. Rough day for me personally.

Thanks. We were pretty happy with the sheer size of what we found. Although every trip since has been horrible. That's my dads log house in the pictures of the elk set. Big place, high ceilings, lots of mounts.
