With out a doubt there is only meat cutter I will let touch any of my animals. When I worked with aguide he was the only one we would use and for over 10 years now he is the only one I will still let touch any of my animals, livestock or wild.
H and H processing. John Halandras, they will cape, they boil skulls they will do everything. There is no batch grinding at all, the only meat you get back is the meat you bring in. THey are spotless, they are fast.
In 10 years, between my family and friends they have cut up over 30 animals deer and elk. In our house hold they have cut 16 elk and 5 deer. In all that work I have found 2 hairs in 1 pack of steaks and one bone chip in package of burger. My father has had over 10 elk cut by H and H and 5 or 6 deer. Never one issue.
They do not make jerky, they do not make sticks they do have an incredible Bacon Burger Reciepe, a decent breakfast sausage and a really good (not spicy) Italian sausage.
I will not recomend anyone else.
Brothers has closed in Meeker and is not opening up this year from the look of it. Purkey Packing makes some damn good processed meat, but the grind everything in bulk and sorry but some people bring in really crappy meat.
The place in Rangely seems to have good reviews, but never tried because I seriously believe that nothing could be better about H and H.
The only thing to remember is H and H will package all grind in 2 pound packs unless specified otherwise. Two pound packs is too much for almost our family recipes.
A really good meat loaf is one pound elk burger and 1 pound elk Italian sausage.
