Minox made in Japan????

What is the deal. I see sportsman guide advertising a Minox spotting scope in thier flyer. In fine print on the picture on the side of the mount area is see what says "Japan for Minox"
Now i am leary that sportsman guide is selling some test manufactured parts or something. What gives??

They have been made in Japan since day 1. They WERE owned by Leice, but MFG in Japan. NOw, Minox has seperated from Leica and are their own company. Rumor is Leica is in some financial trouble too, so Minox split from them to be spared from backruptcy.
