ML Whitetail 101/102

I drew ML Colorado unit 101 / 102, sure need some pointers from locals on this one. I've never taken a Whitetail deer before, I'm driving from Utah solo and self guided baby.

It is all private. Have you found any ground to hunt yet?

Not yet, I've looked at the Sandy Bluffs and I'm trying to call DWR for land owners.

Could use some help however.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-18-11 AT 09:17PM (MST)[p]I will try to break this to you as nicely as possible - you have a rough one ahead of you. 101 and 102 are pretty good units and hold some great deer, but finding access from afar and this late in the game is going to be tough. There are 2 outfitters that I know of hunting in those units and most of your eastern Colorado landowners are commanding substantial compensation for access. The best way to get access is to knock on doors and as many as you can. Once someone gets access in eastern Colorado, they will make sure to hold on to it for as long as they can.
