It's pretty sad really. Unless someone can say that deer was a known animal from X location, it could have summered 20 miles from what is otherwise winter ground where it was killed. More or less that gives you almost to E-burg, to the Crest north to GPW across to entiat-swakane and back to peshastin.
I guess we have to be so protective of a deer we didn't shoot, don't konw where it came from and one guys would have to hunt 60 square miles to cover it's potential range that we can't even say where on the damn road it was killed.
This is what the "fraternity" of hunters has come to these days. No one should give up their specific location but I see so damn much effort to protect a hunting spot or even a perceived one that it's become a joke. In early or even general seasons the deer like this are in places that even if you gave GPS #'s to folks there'd be 2 in a hundred with the stones to try and get there on their backs.
He was a great deer and could just have easilly been killed in Entiat, Manson or Methow. Crap, hope I didn't let the cat out of the bag, those places will be crawling next year.
