Montana Goat 316 Cooke City

Was one of the lucky few to draw a Nonresident Montana goat tag
for the Cooke City area. I have driven through the area but have never hiked or hunted around there. Hunt starts on Sept 1 and I plan on being there for the opener. Any thoughts, Ideas, or other useful information of the area or goats would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but those Monatana tags are so hard to draw hardly anyone on here has experience. I've heard that's rough country. If it's not one of the easy hunts I'd look for a guide. Let us know how you do...info has to start somewhere.

Thanks for the reply. Just thought there was a chance somebody
has done some sightseeing, hiking, or maybe hunted the unlimited sheep area around there. From the limited knowledge I have gained it sounds like you can drive up fairly high, Daisy Pass area, and do some long day hunts in the surrounding mountains.
I have maps ordered and will look them over and maybe get some insight.
