most accurate rifle

I am going to buy a rifle, not real expensive $400-700 range. I want the most accurate rifle possible, What suggestions would someone have for me. I am not looking for a particular big gun. I am thinking 243-300 caliber. More towards the lower calibers. Please help

Rem. Model 700 or Savage 110. My Rem 700 shoots 1/2 " groups with taylored handloads. Only gunsmithing work done on it was a lite trigger tunep-up.

Have a look at tikka. The new T-3 is supposed to be very accurate and not too expensive.

I have to agree with Phantom...the Savage 110 is supposed to have superb out of the box accuracy. Although the trigger is a bit hard for some shooters to get used to. A buddy from work has one also..he loves it.
I used to frequent a site called varminter.com and they couldn't say enough good about that gun...in any caliber.
