mule deer tag dist. 300

Hello all, I drew a mulie tag for dist. 300 and have never been in this area to hunt. I have taken a look at googleearth and been checking out maps. I live in columbia falls and will be able to make 1-2 scouting trips before the general season. I have heard that the area gets flooded with elk hunters and if early snow hits the roads suck. How is the tent camping? Any advise on this area would be very appreciated.

I have good optics and plan on putting them to good use. I have never shot a mule deer buck so Im not looking for a 30 incher, but would be thrilled to take a nice 4x4 that has heavy beams.
