Looking for opinions on mule deer in 6A. Many deer in that unit, What is the area like around Stoneman lake/ Rattle snake canyon. Not looking for a trophy just looking for a area to see some good numbers. Any adviceon on the are would be great. Not looking for any secret areas. Just looking for some possible leads . Thanks in advance.

Have been all over unit 6A,the past 15 yrs. and have seen a few isolated pockets of deer. For sure not a deer unit. While there I'd stay close to the 5B-S area, just maybe ---

I was looking into 6A 5A or 5B for a early archery hunt. I have just not spent much time in 5A or 5B. Want to start scouting around soon to get familar with the ares.

I had a 5A bull tag last year. Hunted the unit for 9 days. Saw about 10-12 deer total. one buck - but he was a dandy. From what I saw 5A would be a TOUGH archery deer hunt

Rattlesnake Canyon is awesome. Killed a big bull in there many moons ago. It was a S.O.B. getting him out of there though. Rattlesnake ain't nothin' nice. That canyon holds a lotta huge bulls. I hope you know somebody with a helicopter or you're hunting with a group of Army Rangers.

I bowhunted 5b south and north for mulies in august last year. I had a couple of close calls with some small bucks with my 9 year old tagging along but not on bucks of any caliber. I've been told there are some in there and I had local knowledge of a couple big boys but never found them. I'm sure if you put in the time scouting and getting to know the area ranchers you might get it into em. I'm hoping to draw the 5b's or 6an for archery bull...

This guy came out of 6A last year. It is A hard hunt.We hunted for 5 days with out seeing one deer until this guy was found. It took me and my bro 1/2 a day to pack him out. Go deep and you will find them.
