depredation bull, that things awesome! congrats to you and your dad, what did he score? that bull looks like he needed to be taken on depredation to stop him from eatin all those cedars?
Congrats on a nice bull, that can be a tough hunt!!!
mastiff - With the depredation tag you can hunt a 5 mile radius from the cultivated farm land. This will put you in a lot of cedar ridges that the elk travel to and from the fields.
Thank you guys for all the nice comments. As you can see Dad is old school. No camo and probally shot that bull with a bullet he has had for 20 years. Dad cut this bulls track and decided to follow to see if he could get an idea on where the elk were bedding after leaving the fields. About a mile or so later he walked right up on this feeding bull at about 20 yards. At first look he could only see the bulls front end and was going to pass due to them being weak. Soon the bull continued to feed into a small clearing showing dad the rest of him. As you can see the decision was made and what a great decision it was. A friend of ours rough scored the bull right around 362. The main beams are 58 and 53 inches.
This could not have happened to a greater guy. He is the one who gave me the sickness (wifes term) that I have for this thing we call hunting.
P.S. Hey B Bop Bess, you recognize this clown?
Good to here from you Bess. Nothing for me here in NV this year but Dad still has a great deer tag in his pocket so hopefully we can get him a great buck also.
Great looking animal congrats can I ask what area you hunted. I got an a late elk hunt coming up in NOV just wanted to see if you got him there....Thanks
