N.M unit 12, elk ?

Can anybody give me some feed back on unit 12 ?
I was in New Mexico fishing last year.
We drove through 12 at dawn, and saw dozens of elk, including some decent bulls standing on the side of the road.
I thought it might be an option for a third choice.

There's no elk on twelve ..... Prob not a good THIRD choice.

I have hunted it but it's supposed to be a good unit.

But going to be a 1% to 3% drawing success for a non-resident. Outfitters with private land tags going to be $8K to $10K.

Sorry, yes, meant to say I haven't hunted it. But I have looked at it and tried to draw it with no luck, will try to draw again.

I live here,very tough to draw,and hard to get access to public. A couple elk around...
